Reiki is a Japanese form of energy work, which is a subset of alternative and an adjunct to medicine. Reiki practitioners use a technique called palm-healing or hands-on healing through which a "universal energy" is transferred through the palms of the practitioner to the client in order to encourage and assist the client in the emotional or physical healing.
